There are times when you wish that the amount of money that you spend on laser hair removal treatment at the expensive saloon can really reap the rewards it promised… but all are not as rosy and beautiful as the advertisements claim it to be. Sometimes, it can be rather frustrating and many people gave up. Their stories remained untold and unknown by the public, and the masses only saw the smooth, hairless skin surface on perfectly airbrushed print materials.

The sales pitch will only tell you the positive things, for example, how some customers becomes hair free at the spot they wanted after a few treatments and never need to come back again. However, they fail to truly address the fact that some people may have more hair than others, warranting the need for extensive, longer term treatment to achieve that kind of result. If you fall into the category of people whose hormones and hair condition means thicker and more persistent hair growth, you will need to spend a lot of money to achieve a hair free result, but that is still not a guarantee. What the laser treatment manage to do is to make the surface hair weaker, and then for the beautician to use a tweezer to pull the hair out for you. Pulling the hair out can certainly make it take a longer time for your hair to regrow, and you would already know this if you are used to all types of hair removal methods.

If you cease your treatment for a while due to some reasons, the hair will regrow. If you do not have time to pluck the hair out from their follicles one by one after that, you will probably need to resort to shaving. When you do that, you will notice that the hair growth will resume just like before the treatment. The beautician will not let you know this.

Then you may also not be able to get the treatment if your hair colour contrast with your skin colour is not strong enough. The laser works well due to contrast, dark hair against fair skin. The laser works by identifying the dark hair and attacks it. If the hair colour is not contrasting enough against the skin, you may find the laser hurting your skin despite the cold gel that they may apply on you before the treatment. It will feel like electric shocks, or being pinched by something really sharp. It can also feel like being bitten by red ants.

Laser hair removal treatment is not an approved permanent hair removal treatment. Many people were confused, because the electrolysis method is the one that was approved by the FDA in the United States as the permanent hair removal method. However, perhaps the word ‘laser’ is seen as a more sophisticated and safer word compared to electrolysis, a word more favored by females, which then made it possible for laser to become a deeply embedded word in the minds of females for permanent hair removal. Somehow, the word has a positive appeal related to beauty, probably because laser technology is associated with the removal of pigmented marks on our skin.

If you wish to go for laser hair removal treatment, you need to remember that there is the need to invest in a lot of time. The laser hair treatment is spending time at the saloon, while the upkeeping is to be done at home. You may have the money and time to keep going back to the saloon to continue the treatment for total hair removal, but depending on your own hormones and hair regrowth, there is no telling until when. You cannot put a fixed price to it. If you are upkeeping from home, you need to be ready to use the tweezer to keep plucking your hair as it regrows. If you do not have much time, this is defnitely a disadvantage.

Indeed, we should look beyond the promises of the advertisements and the sweet sales pitch. It will be much better if we look at our own body, hormones and hair regrowth habit, which will give you a realistic and more accurate estimate of whether the laser will work or not. Be comfortable with yourself, that is the most important.

It is probably the fastest, but it can also be one that may cause you the most troubles in the long run. We are talking about us women shaving our pubic hair, using that sharp razor to move around the contours of the most sensitive and dangerous area of our body. It is different from using the razor on our legs or underarms, and we need more skills and patience to get the job done down there.

The first thing you need to be careful about is the shaving cream. Choose your shaving cream well, because we do not want to get this body zone in trouble. Using soap is a definite no-no for this particular area, so you need to choose a good shaving cream or gel. It is best to use unscented shaving cream instead of scented ones in case of sensitivity. A good, thick gel or cream will help you to get a smooth shave, moisturize your skin and prevent ingrown hairs when coupled with excellent methods.
Do you have a habit of using disposable razors? Not for your pubic hair area, sorry. The disposables will give you bumps easily, so it is advised that you use a razor with a pivoting head that comes with multiple blades. It helps you to get a closer shave, anyway, ultimately you shaving your pubic hair area is to ensure that it is baby smooth, yes?

Before you start dabbing on the shaving cream or gel, you may wish to trim your hair down there a little. If the hair is too long, it requires too much of blade strength and waste the sharpness of your razor, maximizing out the lifespan of your razor too soon. Trimming your hair as short as possible will ensure that there is less hair for your razor to work on.
After that, take a warm shower or bath first. You should let the warm water soften your skin and relax the hair follicle for at least 5 to 10 minutes before you do anything else. As you shower, get rid of dead skin cells by exfoliating mildly on the skin surface. It will help give a closer shave. After this, gently dab your skin dry. Dab on some shaving oil, which will work as a barrier on your skin to allow the razor to glide easier. It will help to prevent razor burn, general irritation and ingrown hairs. Now, you can apply your shaving cream or gel.

If you are using a shaving brush to apply the shaving cream or gel, make sure that your skin is damp but not wet, and move the brush in circles to help lift hair so that you can get a closer shave. When you shave, use a fresh blade and shave in the direction of hair growth first. After this first shave, then you may shave in the opposite direction. But do be careful not to go over the same area too many times. As you shave, rinse your blade between the strokes so that there is no clogging on your razor.
When shaving is complete, rinse your pubic area and pat dry with towel. Moisturize your skin with an unscented lotion after that. There is also a possibility that there are some redness or bumps. There may also be ingrown hair when the hair regrows, so do take extra caution to ensure that you stay gentle with your skin. After all, it’s is not nice to have a bumpy, pubic area.

The thought of it really makes you wonder whether there is such thing as a totally painless bikini hair removal, since the pubic area is such a sensitive area that you will wince at the very thought of plucking out a single hair from it! Probably you are also avoiding the thought of hair removal at this area except by shaving, which is totally harmless and only affects the skin surface.

Shaving

Yes, shaving is one of the easiest and most painless way to get rid of your bikini line hair at the pubic area. It requires just the simple equipments of shaving cream, a good razor and a pair of scissors. To work on your pubic hair area, start with the scissors, and trim your pubic hair short especially at the areas where you are going to use the razor on. At the same time, you may want to trim the rest of the hair to an acceptable length so that it will at least look nicer, never mind if nobody else is going to look at it, because you are at least looking at it yourself.

Once you have trimmed your hair, it is going to be lesser tension on your razor. Apply the shaving cream at the hair areas where you would like to shave, and try to get a shaving cream or gel for sensitive skin. You may not have sensitive skin generally, but it does no harm to just prevent the onset of any sensitivity just in case your pubic skin area reacts differently to chemicals compared to other parts of your body.

Bikini Laser Hair Removal

It is not totally painless, because you will feel something like a prick when the beautician beams the laser at the affected skin area. However, the pain is minimal and the rest of the work is probably just going to be rather simple as well. The laser beams are supposed to help widen the pores and weaken the hair follicles, or something of a similar effect so that your pubic hair can be removed a bit easier. Different types of laser treatment will have a slightly different effect, and IPL may be more painful than e-Laser.

Electrolysis

This is a time consuming process. It streams electrolysis energy into every strand of hair and damage the hair follicle every time. It weakens the hair and makes it impossible for it to regrow after a few treatments, depending very much on your own hair growth structure and hormones. This is also not a totally painless method.

So, what are the painful methods? Everything else, especially waxing. Waxing rips your hair out from your skin together with its roots just by pulling at the wax strip that sticks to the wax and your hair when it gets dry, and sure enough it will cause a lot of pain. It is likely that the beautician will give you some pain killers prior to the treatment to numb the pain. Some of the saloons charging a more exorbitant rate may even offer you a glass of wine or something just to calm your nerves. They will have their own ways to soothe the pain that their customers have during the treatment.

Forget about the trend, let us talk about some more logical things that are involved in the removal of pubic hair if you are going for a full bikini wax. There are some things which you need to look into other than following the trend, especially when it comes to getting a bikini wax. What should you consider?

Long term considerations

Many people are not too careful about the fact that many things can change in the future. Today you may wish to do a full Brazilian wax for the sake of your partner, but tomorrow you may break off with him and find another guy who may not like the idea of a totally bare pubic area. Most guys will prefer their partners to have at least a little bit of hair just to create better friction during sexual intercourse, so your previous partner’s taste for such exotic preferences of a totally bare pubic area may not please everyone. If your new guy does not like it, it will be a tedious task for you to regrow the hair at your pubic area, since waxing will actually rip off the pubic hair at the roots and sometimes regrowth is not possible. Patchy hair will not make your pubic area look pretty anyway.

Another long term consideration is on whether you believe in the claims of medical science or not. Medical science research claims that the hair at the labia provides protection against bacterial infection during child birth. Do you believe in this result that is published in international medical journals? Or do you find that you have no interest in having a baby at all (not even in the future, are you very sure?) that you have no qualms about getting a full Brazilian wax that also removes the hair at your labia? It is to our understanding that women are bound to want to have babies if they meet the one man that they truly love. Well, what is in your mind?

If it is for the sake of trend only, are you prepared if the next trend is actually to have pubic hair once more? Sure you may wait for the regrowth, but it is going to be a terrible process of having to experience the hair piercing through the skin surface (okay, that is normal, it happens every time when it regrows before your next waxing appointment), only that this time you have to wait for it to get longer still. Oh, that itch is sometimes unbearable!

Short term difficulties

Okay, so you probably are serious about getting that Brazilian wax. The short term difficulties which you may face is the hair regrowth. If you are unlucky, you might experience ingrowth instead of a strand of hair that just pierce right through the skin surface easily during the regrowth period. Ingrowth hair may cause inflammation of the hair follicle as the pore cannot be open, with pus, redness and a bumpy surface as the hair continues growing underneath the skin surface. You may have already experienced this at other parts of your body, do you want this to happen also at your pubic area? There are still other risks involved, and you will know if you are familiar with waxing of other body parts.

Overall, it may seem just as a beauty trend, but do bear in mind that a little decision will still have an impact on you for a very long time. Think carefully before you act, because we certainly do not want it to become something you regret for the rest of your life.

By early definitions, they should be the same. Both Brazilian wax and Hollywood wax refers to the same thing: pubic hair removal by means of waxing. In the past Brazilian wax includes everything, from whether your pubic hair removal is complete, or a hair removal that includes some designs and patterns created from your frontal pubic hair.

The most important thing that you need to know is not the definition of the different types of pubic hair removal. The important thing you need to know if you are attempting pubic hair removal is for you to decide which type of pubic hair removal you are interested in. Do you just want a totally clean and smooth pubic area? Or are you interested in creating lovely designs for the fun sake of it?

Sometimes, some people may opt for a Hollywood wax that takes out everything, and we mean absolutely everything. It includes hair at the labia, which is the area within the folds of where your baby slides out from during child birth. Yes, you can imagine that waxing out hair at this sensitive area can be really painful, but of course your saloon would have given you some painkiller prior to the waxing. It may be painkiller or some mild anesthetic administered to you by the professional at the saloon. Usually, Brazilian or Hollywood wax saloons are the more expensive type of saloon where you may even be offered some red wine, especially if you are really close to the owner or is a very regular customer.

If you prefer to have some designs for the fun sake of it, then you may tell your wax technician exactly what you wish to do. There may be some common designs which are normally done, but there are also designs that you may explore yourself and see whether your technician is able to do it. You may want to discuss it prior, just in case the technician needs to make any preparations for the designs, and also you may want to know whether your technician is really as adventurous as you are. Some technicians are just interested in getting the job done, simply because the shop probably do not belong to them. If you do know that the owner of the shop can be pretty adventurous but the technician handling your case is not, perhaps you would like to have a little chat to explore the possibilities with the owner instead. Then the owner may arrange for someone else to help you, or to be able to explain to the technician just what exactly you want.
The idea of getting a Brazilian wax done can be pretty exciting. This is especially true if you are the type to enjoy body art, and is willing to explore different designs on your own body. If you are just a regular person, you might only opt for a normal bikini line wax too, for the conservative side of it. Plus, you worry that you will regret getting the Brazilian wax because you probably have not tried it before. Or perhaps you have tried some body hair removal at other parts of the body and you are okay with it, and so you would like to explore the pubic area too.

Have you done some designs for your pubic hair area with the Brazilian waxing done lately? If you have, how do you maintain it?

Once you have created a design with the Brazilian wax, the remaining designs will be trimmings of those pubic hair, to keep them short and nice. This is something which you may need to do quite constantly even before you go for your next waxing appointment. This will help you to maintain the design, while waiting for the regrowth for your next trip to the saloon.

If you wish to keep the same design until your next appointment, what you can do is to just trim it a little every time it seems to grow a bit more than a centimeter. In about two weeks, depending on your hormones, those parts where the pubic hair had been waxed will start regrowing and showing themselves like flowers blooming during spring. It can be pretty itchy during this time and that means you will feel quite uncomfortable. Once you have grown your hair to about half an inch or so, you will be able to go for another waxing session, either maintaining the same design, showing the differentiation by the length of your hair. You can always ask your waxing technician to follow back the design, and if the technician was the one who served you previously, she should have your records and remember what you did during your last session.

Some designs may be easier to maintain than others. For example, the more basic designs can be maintained pretty easily, such as the landing strip and the triangle. IF you are doing your own designs with your waxing technician, for example wavy designs or some sophisticated curl tail designs, it will be a bit harder for you to maintain it well. All that curves and waves will need to be carefully monitored, and you probably need a mirror when you try to trim your pubic hair.

You will also need to be careful about your trimming, because you certainly do not want to trim it too short. If you trim it too short, the design is not quite as obvious, and when your hair regrowth happens, you might have some difficulties getting the same design because it is hard for the wax technician to really choose which hair to remove. It is also not easy to attempt getting the exact same design again.

However, if you would like to change design, you may just trim your pubic hair so that it is almost the same length as your regrowth, and give it a chance to grow together with the new hair regrowth. Once it is long enough then you may go back to your waxing technician and check out the next designs you wish to explore for your pubic area. Do try to get the hair as same length as possible so that it will be much easier to do a new design.

You desired a baby smooth pubic area, either by your own intent or if you are attracted to some new types of body art. There is a form of body art which can be done at the pubic area after you have done your Brazilian wax, and it is called Vajazzling.

What is it actually? It is the use of lovely crystals such as Swarovski crystals and sticking them to the surface of your pubic area once you have finished removing all the hair at your pubic area. It is difficult to do any vajazzling if you did not yet remove everything, because the hair poking out from the hair follicles and pores will not allow anything to stick on well at all.

If you do not have any experience in creating vajazzling designs, you may start by creating the design first on paper, and then decide on the colours of the crystals and how many that you may need. You will need the crystals and perhaps use the type of glue that you use for your fake eyelashes. Then you will need a pair of pincers to hold the crystals with when you apply the glue, so that you do not mess your hand too much.

When we talk about vajazzling designs, it is very common to have butterflies or floral designs. Some people may prefer to get the service of a vajazzling expert instead of doing it yourself, just the same as you may require someone else to help you with nail designs such as those you get for pedicure and manicures. You may wish to get this done by someone else if you do not have steady hands and if you do not have a particular design in mind.
At the saloon, you will be given some designs to choose from. These designs will be helpful for you to try out and explore the idea of vajazzling when you first started without too much knowledge of the proper procedure or any ideas for the designs. It will be good to start with these ready designs so that you are able to think and explore on these designs at a later date when you turn from a beginner to an amateur.

Vajazzling can last a few days if you do not cause much friction against the pubic area. If you are having sexual intercourse with your partner during the time when you have your vajazzling, you may probably find the crystals among the bed sheets. Alternatively, it is pretty common to find the vajazzling crystals on your underwear the next morning if the glue is not sticking well, or if the hair regrowth has started to show at the surface.
When you get used to vajazzling, it can be quite an interesting temporary body art. It can be more interesting than having designs at your pubic hair area by creating designs out of your hair lines during a Brazilian wax, because the crystals can be pretty colourful.

You looked at yourself in the mirror and with a heave of courage decided that you want to go for a Brazilian wax. You did not like to shave because hair regrowth is just too constant, and you decided to get yourself pampered. You start looking for a Brazilian wax salon and find that there are so many of them, and you get confused on which salon may be best. While you do not mind getting a wax from a saloon giving out discounts and special price offers at the moment for other parts of your body such as your legs or arms, you certainly are a bit cautious when it comes to more sensitive areas such as the underarms and now the pubic hair area.

How do you know which salon to choose? It is your right to just go for a consultation and ask a lot of questions before you decide on whether you would like to sign up for any courses to get your pubic hair removed. Do not feel obliged to sign just because the person behind the counter explains it to you very well and treats you very nice with tea and cakes even if you do not yet sign up for anything. Keep your own best interest in mind.

Ask about the method. Get the person behind the counter to tell everything in detail, and ask for the extension of these details. When they talk about the prescription of anesthetic or pain killers, ask them what type or what brand that they are using. Copy it down and make your own research about it. Get online with the name or ask a pharmacist or a doctor that you trust about the anesthetic and the pain killer. Will you have any side effects using that type of pain killer or anesthetic? Are you going to be allergic to it?

You should go around to as many saloons as you can and find out as much as possible before you commit to choose just one saloon to get your Brazilian wax done. You might even want to get online into forums to see discussions by other customers, never mind if the saloons give you a lot of testimonials because testimonials can be faked. There is no need to rush, and you should hunt for any derogatory remarks about the saloon to see what they are about. Is it about the service, or is it about the result? You might ignore if it is about service because some people are bound to complain a lot, but you should pay attention if it is about the results. Listen hard, and if your gut feelings say it does not seem right, strike the name out from your list of consideration.

Other than this, you probably want to consider the pricing of the different saloons after you have weighed their professionalism. Also, is it a convenient place for you to be at? Do you like its facilities? Do you, after talking to the people at the saloon, feel comfortable with them? This is very important because for a Brazilian wax or Hollywood wax, you need to really bare it all for the technician. You will know best, follow your gut feelings and open your eyes and ears to see and hear correctly for any clues.

How many methods are there to remove your pubic hair? Very often, we hear about waxing, but actually there are more than just that one single method. There are many different methods available.

The easiest way to get rid of pubic hair is shaving. Yes, shaving can be done, but of course you will need to be prepared not to shave too hard, lest it hurt your sensitive skin. When you do want to shave your pubic hair area, you must remember to apply shaving cream, but do not get those that are too cool for the skin if your skin is sensitive. The idea of shaving cream is to ensure that there will not be too much friction against your skin for that clean shave.

If you are not afraid of sensitive skin issues, then you may perhaps use some hair removal cream instead. There are several types of creams. You may try first with those that behave just like shaving cream. It comes with an application for the cream and another applicator which looks like a bladeless razor to scrape away the cream. Once scraped, the hair will be removed together with the cream.

Another type of hair removal cream is different. The cream is applied on the skin and left to stay on for a while, then washed off with warm water. It may have a type of fragrance that some may find nice, but some may think that it smells too much like things from the pharmacy. Will you like it? Well, it is very subjective. However, do beware that you might not be able to use this if you have skin sensitivity. Any cream may subject you to some irritated skin if your skin is not able to take it.

One other hair removal method is to go for a professional wax. Not all saloons will offer pubic hair waxing, unless they tell you specifically that they are a Brazilian wax saloon. However, quite a few will offer to perform a bikini line wax, since it is less provoking than a Brazilian wax. A bikini line wax does not require you to remove your panties or to bare it all in front of the beautician, and in fact they will encourage that you wear your bikini along so that they will be able to know just how high is your bikini line to perform the waxing for you.

If you have a bigger budget, you may choose to have laser hair removal or electrolysis. Those are more expensive methods, and the luxury is that you will be able to just sit there and be pampered. There may be slight pain as the electric current passes through your hair and then to the roots into the hair follicle to try to destroy the hair so that the hair will eventually not be able to regrow after a few treatments.

At the end of it, it all depends on how well you would like to have your pubic hair removed. Do you have any preference of style and design which you wish to fulfill in your hair removal? If you do, then perhaps you will also be able to determine which type of hair removal treatment you would like to have.

You know that it is painful to get waxing done at your bikini line area. More so if you are talking about waxing the pubic area, so how did these people get by doing Brazilian wax anyway?

Well, they do give you some painkillers when you go for your Brazilian wax, otherwise, who will be able to withstand the pain that is sharp and stabbing when you rip your pubic hair off its roots near our bladder! You do not have the privilege of the painkiller when you are at home, so if you are thinking about plucking your pubic hair instead of going for a wax treatment at the saloon, we urge you to STOP.

There are many reasons why you should not be plucking hair at your pubic area by yourself. First, let us look at the pain issue. The pubic area is one that is located nearest to our bladder, a very sensitive part of our human body structure. Any pain or other excruciating sensations and pressure against this area may cause problems to you and these problems and pain will not be easily forgotten. This is the reason why they administer painkillers at the saloon when you do a Brazilian wax. The pain that you experience without taking painkillers from plucking or waxing where you rip off the hair from your pubic area can be bad enough to make you faint, and this is not good at all. If you are doing this at home, will there be anyone to bring you to the hospital if you lost your consciousness? Would you want to risk seeing the headlines in your local papers the next morning saying, “Woman fainted from pain caused while plucking pubic hair”?

If the humiliation and pain arel not discouraging you, perhaps you would like to reconsider the after pluck condition. Very often, plucking may result in bumps, and you can be really uncomfortable for a long time. Plucking it wrongly may cause a bigger red bump and you will feel sore for a long time. It may even cause some scarring too. And there may also be the problem about getting ingrown hair that will really cause a pain to you.

Well, still not worried? We will now test your patience. Plucking your pubic hair one by one is not only painful, but it is also a very time consuming process. You do not mind plucking your armpit hair, because when it is painful, it is still many times less painful than plucking your pubic hair. And to imagine that you may be sitting there and plucking for an hour or more… are you going to sit around staring at your pubic hair for so long and pulling out hair one by one? Is there nothing more fun for you to do?

Face it, you will not want to be doing that. Go for a professional wax, because then someone else will have to do the hard work for you while you just lie there and be pampered. There may be a little bit of pain and you may need to fork out money for the treatment, but it sure is more worthy.
